Digital overhead line monitoring with Smart Navigator 2.0

Looking towards natural events such as fallen trees that cause disruptions to overhead lines, #Westnetz decided to #digitalise its network with Smart Navigator 2.0.

❌ Conventional troubleshooting proved to be time-consuming and cost-intensive.

✅ The digital overhead line short-circuit indicator Smart Navigator 2.0 continuously measures current, load flow direction, and conductor temperature and transmits them to the #control centre. This allows faults on overhead lines to be located and cleared faster.

A successful pilot phase proved the reliability, even under extreme conditions such as the #Storm Sabine.

Westnetz GmbH has already installed 400 sets to make troubleshooting significantly faster and more economical.
