Three-phase earthing and short-circuiting devices
Three-phase earthing and short-circuiting devices are portable equipment for temporarily earthing or earthing and short-circuiting disconnected alternating current installations and consist of the following components
- Three short-circuiting cables with cable lug
- An earthing cable with cable lug
- A connecting piece that connects the short-circuiting cables and the earthing cable
- One temperature measuring sensor and a QR code (instructions) in the connector
- Connection parts for short-circuiting cables (e.g. phase connection terminal)
- Connection part to earthing cable (e.g. earthing clamp)
The three-phase earthing and short-circuiting device offers decisive advantages in daily use, especially for energy supply companies and industrial users. Service technicians and maintenance personnel benefit above all from the significant time savings, as all three phases can be earthed in a single operation. This is particularly important for regular maintenance work on transformers or switchgear.
Product features Earthing and short-circuiting device
The main difference to the single-pole version is that all three phases are short-circuited and earthed at the same time. This offers several advantages:
- Faster installation, as only one earthing connection needs to be made
- Guaranteed short-circuiting between all phases
- Uniform current distribution in the event of a fault
The application is carried out according to this scheme:
- First, the earth potential connection is connected to the earth fixed point
- The phase connection terminal is then connected to the part to be earthed using an earthing rod
- Disassembly is carried out in reverse order
The following also applies here: The device must be dimensioned for the corresponding voltage level and the maximum short-circuit current. Handling is reserved exclusively for trained specialist personnel.
