Single-pole earthing and short-circuiting devices
without earthing terminals
Single-pole earthing and short-circuiting devices are portable devices for temporary earthing or earthing and short-circuiting of disconnected AC systems and consist of the following components:
- A flexible, highly conductive copper cable
- The ends are each fitted with a cable lug with a 13 mm hole
Typically, one side is provided with a phase connection terminal and the other side with an earth potential connection (e.g. earth terminal).
The special feature of the single-pole version is that it is designed for earthing individual conductors or components. It is often used in low and medium-voltage systems where individual conductors need to be earthed separately.
The application is carried out in a fixed order:
- First, the earth potential connection is connected to the earth fixed point
- The phase connection terminal is then connected to the part to be earthed using an earthing rod
- Disassembly is carried out in reverse order
Important: The single-pole earthing & short-circuiting device must be designed for the possible short-circuit current.

The cable lugs each have a 13 mm hole. The earthing cables can be fitted with all clamps.
