Overhead line short-circuit indicator with phase-selective fault indication

The Navigator LM is an electronic indicator intended for medium-voltage overhead line networks.

The indicator has a load-dependent self-adjustment of the response current, i.e. it constantly monitors the load current of the overhead line and automatically determines the corresponding response value for short-circuit detection depending on this. The maximum load current determined is stored for at least 72 hours so that the indicator is always optimally adapted to the network to be monitored, even with a low instantaneous load.

The indicator has an integrated battery check. When the battery capacity drops from the original 500 to 50 hours of remaining flashing time, a yellow LED indicator light starts to flash for 6 months.

The Navigator LM distinguishes between two short-circuit excitations: A first short-circuit excitation leads to a steady flashing LED display. If a second short-circuit is detected within the reset time (e.g. after AWE), the flashing frequency switches to double flashing.

Product features

  • 360° all-round LED display
  • Battery check indicator
  • Double-flash function for second fault detection
  • Depending on version: Manual / current / time reset and reset on voltage recovery
  • Can be mounted under voltage
  • Navigator LM HV: permissible voltage ≤161 kV

Your added value

  • Maintenance planning made easy: 6-month LED warning when the battery is low avoids unplanned downtime
  • Automatic adjustment: Automatic adjustment to network conditions ensures reliable fault detection.
  • Fast troubleshooting
