Smart Navigator 2.0

Overhead line short-circuit indicator

The Smart Navigator 2.0 is the ideal solution for monitoring overhead line networks. It recognises and reports faults, voltage drops, overloads and other faults in the grid and reports them remotely without delay. It enables faster fault localisation, optimum utilisation of grid capacity and therefore improved supply quality.
Energy is stored in a rechargeable lithium battery for periods with low or no load current. It is compatible with various communication technologies and can be maintained remotely via iHost.

One set is required for each overhead line section to be monitored. The set consists of a master and two satellites. The satellites report all measured values and fault information to the master, which communicates with iHost and optionally with the control room.

The Smart Navigator 2.0 series is characterized by the following criteria:

  • Remote reporting of measured values – high-precision measured current values, load flow direction and conductor cable temperature
  • Built-in mobile radio modem
  • Remote configuration and updates via iHost or on-site via USB transmitter
  • Higher availability of the medium-voltage overhead line

Power management

For overhead lines with base loads smaller than 5 A, pole-mounted units with solar panels are used to ensure supply and control room communication. Alternatively, these can be powered from a DC or AC auxiliary power supply.

The high battery capacity of the display devices guarantees a service life of >10 years, whereby any minimum load current can extend the service life. Thanks to the solar or voltage supply, a mast station can communicate with up to nine Smart Navigator 2.0 LC simultaneously and thus monitor and remotely report on three 3-phase overhead line sections.

Your added value

  • Quick fault detection – reduces downtimes
  • Overhead line monitoring – data for assessing the condition of the grid
  • Innovative mounting – installation under voltage and from the ground possible
  • Remote maintenance – import configuration and updates from the control room
