Summator

Precise detection of fault currents

The summation current sensor is a specialized measuring instrument that plays a crucial role in electrical safety technology. As a high-precision measuring instrument, it records the sum of all currents in a system and thus enables the reliable detection of residual currents.

In the normal operating state of an electrical system, the sum of all incoming and outgoing currents is zero. The summation current sensor continuously monitors this balance. If a residual current occurs, for example due to an insulation fault or an earth fault, the residual current device registers this deviation immediately. This precise measurement enables a rapid response to potentially dangerous situations.
