Smart Navigator 2.0

Overhead line short-circuit indicator

The Smart Navigator 2.0 is the ideal solution for monitoring overhead line networks. It detects and reports short circuits, voltage drops, overloads and other faults in the grid and reports them remotely without delay. It enables faster fault localization, provides data on grid utilization and thus improved transparency. The Smart Navigator 2.0 is easy to install and configure and is virtually maintenance-free. The indicators draw their power supply from the overhead line.
Energy is stored in a rechargeable lithium battery for periods with low or no load current. It is compatible with various communication technologies and can be maintained remotely via iHost.

One set is required for each overhead line section to be monitored. The set consists of a master and two satellites. The satellites report all measured values and fault information to the master, which communicates with iHost and optionally with the control room.

Your added value

  • Quick fault detection – reduces downtimes
  • Overhead line monitoring – data for assessing the condition of the grid
  • Innovative mounting – installation under voltage and from the ground possible
  • Remote maintenance – import configuration and updates from the control room

Variants of the Smart Navigator 2.0 series

Smart Navigator 2.0

  • Nominal voltage range: 2.4 ≤ 69 kV (L-L)
  • Min. load current for self-supply: 5 A
  • Max. Continuous phase current: 600A

Smart Navigator 2.0 LC + Pole Master

  • Nominal voltage range: 2.4 ≤ 69 kV (L-L)
  • Min. load current: 0 A
  • Max. Continuous phase current: 600A
  • Pole Master solar and battery supply for very low load currents <5A
  • Up to 9 satellites per Pole Master

Power management

The Smart Navigator 2.0 LC with Pole Master is used for networks with base loads of less than 5 A. The Pole Master mast station contains the mobile radio modem and is self-sufficiently powered via the integrated solar panel.

The high battery capacity of the Smart Navigator 2.0 LC devices guarantees a service life of >10 years, whereby any minimum load current can extend the service life.

Smart Navigator 2.0 HV

  • Nominal voltage range: 69 – 161 kV (L-L)
  • Min. load current: 5 A
  • Max. Continuous phase current: 600A

The Smart Navigator 2.0 HV is a variant for the high-voltage grid. In addition to short-circuit detection, the focus here is on monitoring. The integrated sensors for current, voltage and conductor temperature provide information for evaluating capacity utilization. The load flows in the high-voltage grid are usually sufficient to maintain a continuous data connection. The Smart Navigator 2.0 HV therefore offers a cost-effective solution for optimally utilizing your grid. You can read the specific application example here.
